i know, it’s old. and not vintage old. last season old. i don’t care. i’ve attempted mashups in the past, and failed gloriously. they are hard. and this is wondrous. i will whistle it all wheekend.-d

if you’re not an avid follower of fastbreak futbol, you should be. it’s a soccer blog my buddy has been running for the past couple of years. just before the world cup started, he posted a brilliant series of entries that compared each national team to a popular band, in an effort to help non-soccer folks better understand how each team fit into the world cup picture. then, a few days later, we had the idea of doing mashups to represent the different matches. (for example, he equated Brazil to The Beatles, and Ivory Coast to Outkast. Therefore the match Brazil vs. Ivory Coast would result in a Beatles vs. Oukast mashup, like this one.

appropriately, the band he assigned to Spain was Led Zeppelin. their play or die match against Chile starts in 1 minute. he said Chile was like Ozzy Osbourne. i couldn’t find any decent ozzy/zeppelin mashups. but this one i love. (it’s a bootie mashup, which are always epic.) so. enjoy the mashup. enjoy the game. que viva españa. -d
